Newsletter April 2007

Minutes of the CGNA General Membership Meeting, January 29, 2008

President Bill Aaron called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm. Present were Aaron Quigley from the City Council District 6 office, and Board members Tony Medina, Kristin Patterson and Gary Smith.

Aaron Quigley made two announcements about District 6 events.

Kristin submitted the Treasurer’s report. At the end of 2007 we had $707.18 in our bank account.

Bill Aaron updated the meeting on projects around the area.

Bill Aaron reviewed the work of the CGNA in 2007.

The intersection at Ironwood Drive and Almaden Expressway was reconfigured by the County with money designated for bike lane construction. The County did not notify anyone of their plans, and they apparently did not conduct a traffic survey or study. With angry input from our neighborhood they agreed to move the lanes on Ironwood to the left, so we could turn right out of our neighborhood.

The City resurfaced our streets, and when the workers repainted the lines at the end of Ironwood Drive, they, on their own, decided to move the lanes on Ironwood back to the right. The lanes were no longer over the traffic detectors, and the traffic light would not change for left turn traffic out of our neighborhood. After multiple calls to the County and City over a 3 ½ week period, the City finally repainted the lines where they are supposed to be.

The curb at the taqueria is still not painted red, although we have been told by the City three times since last March that it would be done.

Bill Aaron outlined the Association’s plans for 2008.

A new CGNA Board of Directors for 2008 was unanimously elected. The members of the 2008 Board are:
